13:30 h
Testal pier
Cantidades de lixo:
Vermello: Bastante
Amarelo: Algún
Azul: pouco
The map shows the amounts of trash detected in the cleaning area
The area of action extends from Aguieira beach (Portosín) to the Seilán viaduct. It is divided into 11 zones (A, B, Classification, D, E, F, G, H, I, J and K) (See map). The waste sorting area will be set up on the esplanade between the rowing club and the viaduct (on the same site as previous years’ clean-ups).
Each zone has a group of participants associated with the corresponding coordinators.
Get ready at 13:30 at the meeting point, at the port of O Testal. From here all groups except E have to take the cars to travel to the remaining cleaning areas. The place where all the collected rubbish will be collected is next to the rowing club building; at the end of the cleaning, we return to this point, to help where necessary and sign the assistance part.
IMPORTANT: Everyone must sign the attendance part before leaving, in order to justify their participation; a copy will be provided as proof. The minimum working time is 4 hours. The place where the assistance part will be signed is the classification zone in the Testal, and the people in charge are Rafa and Pancho (from Arcea), together with Quico (president of the group) and other members of the group’s board.
In preparation for the two scheduled cleanings of ECONOIA 4, we noticed that there is less trash. This forces us to modify the way in which we were organized until now. The cleaning sections are wider than those of past cleanings, they have a smaller number of people assigned, and we cover a larger area of benches in one cleaning. At an organizational level, this means added complications to the already usual ones so that everything fits together in the best possible way. For this reason, the waste from each sector will be classified and counted as it is collected. The goal to achieve is that we do not have to collect it twice, once in the banks and then another in classification.
To be distributed at the meeting point. At least one coordinator will go with each group. (P= people)

WARNING
In section A of Aguieira, much of the rubbish is in the river, so you’ll need high boots, if we don’t want to get wet.
Attention to unknown liquids – do not pour!
Bulky, transport without putting them in bags.
We also collect small pieces of plastic, as they are the first to enter the food chain and can end up affecting the seafood. (they are no longer separated, the plastic is counted all together)
The syringes we find are NEVER PUT IN A BAG MIXED WITH OTHER GARBAGE, we give them to the group coordinator.
